Media Advisory: NJ Department of Health Chief of Staff Receives Flu Vaccination

Reminding Residents: Don’t Wait, Vaccinate!

On Thursday, October 18, New Jersey Department of Health Chief of Staff Andrea Martinez-Mejia will join Dr. Rina Ramirez, Chief Medical Officer, of Zufall Health Center to receive an influenza vaccination as part of the Department’s #FightTheFluNJ campaign.

Mejia will also speak to patients and staff of the health center in both English and Spanish, about the importance of getting vaccinated and steps they can take to prevent the spread of flu.

The event will begin at 11am at Zufall Health Center, 18 West Blackwell St, Dover, NJ 07801.

Throughout the fall, Department of Health staff will be visiting community health centers, hospitals and local health departments across the state to get their flu shots to illustrate the importance of this preventive measure.

Last week, Health Commissioner Shereef Elnahal visited Henry J. Austin Health Center to receive his influenza vaccination.

For more information about influenza, including where to find vaccine, visit the Department’s flu website at https://nj.gov/health/cd/topics/flu.shtml.
