New Jersey Presidents' Council

history

The New Jersey Presidents' Council (NJPC) represents New Jersey’s public, private, and community colleges and universities. They are made up of an executive board and four committees that address various issues, concerns, assessments, and academic programs in higher education. NJPC was established by the N.J.S.A 18A:3B-7 statute.

Each petition and proposal for new academic degree programs are brought to the NJPC for review and recommendation.

Academic Issues Committee

The Academic Issues Committee (AIC) is a representative of the NJPC. The AIC reviews and makes recommendations to the NJPC on new academic degree program proposals and changes to academic programs for New Jersey Institutions including new program proposals, conversion of options to concentrations/majors, degree designations, joint program offerings, and locations. They are defined by the N.J.S.A. 18A:3B-8 statute.
