This Task Force is convened and co-chaired by staff from both DAS and DMHS. The goal of the Task Force is to create a three to five year strategic plan that, when implemented, will articulate the vision of a co-occurring competent system of care for New Jersey.
Through subcommittee work focusing on the areas of best practices, financing, policy, and regulatory and legal issues, the Task Force will review the current systems and identify issues and concerns within and across systems of care; and put forth recommendations to assist in the creation of a co-occurring competent and seamless system of services for persons living with, and recovering from, mental illness and substance use disorders. It is expected that each subcommittee will write and submit a final report that will be reviewed and synthesized into the Task Force Final Report and Plan by the DAS/DMHS co-chairs.
