An Overview

The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities currently administers five residential developmental centers (DCs), with a total census of 1,429 as of 3/31/2017, broken down as follows:

Green Brook Regional Center: 104 residents
Hunterdon Developmental Center: 480 residents
New Lisbon Developmental Center: 351 residents
Vineland Developmental Center: 213 residents
Woodbine Developmental Center: 281 residents

*North Jersey Developmental Center, in Passaic County, was closed as of July 1, 2014
*Woodbridge Developmental Center, in Middlesex County, was closed as of January 9, 2015

Developmental Center residents have intensive needs related to their developmental disabilities, and many also have co-occurring mental health, behavioral and/or medical needs.
