Located on a 102-acre campus in the scenic hills of Hunterdon County, the Center offers a beautiful and tranquil setting for the growth and development of its 600 residents. Since 1969 the Center has been dedicated to treating clients with dignity and respect, and to providing them with the highest quality of life possible. Our commitment is to help each person under our care achieve his or her highest level of independence.
Caring for the needs of people with developmental disabilities requires a multidisciplinary, specialized approach. At Hunterdon Developmental Center each member of our experienced staff plays a role in our client's well-being and progress.
Our teachers, recreational therapists, physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dentists, pharmacists, dieticians, 24-hour direct care providers, clerical, maintenance, housekeeping, food service personnel, and our administrators and managers form the team that serves and supports this mission.
The Center offers comprehensive therapeutic care and treatment designed to assist clients in reaching their maximum potential.
The Adaptive Learning Center provides clients with continuing education in pre-vocational and vocational training, fine arts, resident employment, supported employment, creative dramatics, contract manufacturing, and greenhouse employment.
The 64-bed health services building offers medical services, physical, occupational and speech therapy, audiology, and outpatient services.
