The DCJ Economic Crime
Bureau works closely with many state offices, such as the Department
of Human Services and the Division of Taxation, and is responsible
for investigating and prosecuting criminals who defraud the public,
government agencies and government programs for their own financial
gain. The Bureau acts to protect the citizens of New Jersey by prosecuting
complex schemes involving insurance fraud, tax fraud, securities
fraud, Medicaid fraud, bank fraud, unemployment fraud and labor
abuse.
