Economic Crime

The DCJ Economic Crime Bureau works closely with many state offices, such as the Department of Human Services and the Division of Taxation, and is responsible for investigating and prosecuting criminals who defraud the public, government agencies and government programs for their own financial gain. The Bureau acts to protect the citizens of New Jersey by prosecuting complex schemes involving insurance fraud, tax fraud, securities fraud, Medicaid fraud, bank fraud, unemployment fraud and labor abuse.
