Re-Proposed New Rules -- Title to Vehicles Abandoned on Private Property

The Motor Vehicle Commission has re-proposed new rules, Title to Vehicles Abandoned on Private Property.  The re-proposed new rules establish the procedure required to sell a vehicle abandoned on private property at public auction and subsequently transfer title to the vehicle pursuant to the statutory authority found at N.J.S.A. 39:4-56.6.

The re-proposed new rules are published in the February 4, 2019 issue of the New Jersey Register.  Copies of the proposal may be obtained on the MVC website, www.njmvc.gov; by mail or in person from the Motor Vehicle Commission, 225 East State Street, 9th Floor – East Wing, P.O. Box 162, Trenton, New Jersey 08666-0162; or requested by telephone at (609) 777-1407.
