Highlands Council will help towns plan for and address next round of affordable housing - (5/18/2023) The Highlands Council awarded a contract to Colliers Engineering & Design to develop guidance that will help municipalities prepare for the 4th round of affordable housing obligations. The key objective of the project will be to ensure that the Highlands Regional Master Plan (RMP) guides decision making when it comes to affordable housing. (read)

PRESS RELEASE: Alpha Borough will Expand Highlands Center to Accommodate Planned Growth and Enhance Quality of Life for Residents - (4/20/2023) At its most recent meeting, the Highlands Council approved a petition from Alpha Borough in Warren County to expand its designated Highlands Center. Alpha Borough's goals for seeking the expansion include establishing a more cohesive downtown, improving walkability and bike-ability, and building-out its industrial district. (read)

Highlands Council Approves $50,000 to Help Municipalities Address Warehousing Concerns - (2/15/2023) At its January meeting, the Highlands Council approved a resolution authorizing up to $50,000 for grants to help municipalities examine local zoning to see where they may be vulnerable to inappropriate development, specifically warehouse siting.
