State Police Arrest Man for Possession of Stolen Vehicle

Hazlet Township, Monmouth County – Troopers from the New Jersey State Police Troop “D” Holmdel Station arrested Eduardo Huaman, 47, of North Arlington, N.J., after stopping him on the Garden State Parkway in a stolen van that belonged to his former employer.

On Friday, August 5, at 1:31p.m., State Police dispatchers advised troopers that a stolen Ford work van was possibly traveling northbound on the Garden State Parkway in the area of milepost 109. The van was reported stolen to Howell Township Police Department by Huaman’s former supervisor. Huaman was told by his boss he could retrieve some belongings from the van, instead he decided to drive away with it.

Within 30 minutes of the van being reported stolen, troopers spotted Huaman and stopped him in the area of milepost 116 in Hazlet Township. Huaman was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and released pending a court appearance.

Charges are mere accusations, and the suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
