Petition to Initiate Interest Arbitration

Below are the names of the members of the Special Panel of Interest Arbitrators. These arbitrators issue awards which resolve negotiations impasses between public police or fire departments and exclusive majority representatives. Once a Petition to Initiate Compulsory Interest Arbitration is filed, the Commission will randomly select an arbitrator from the Special Panel of Interest Arbitrators. The fee schedule for the cost of services provided by the arbitrator is set forth at N.J.S.A. 34:13A-16(f)(6). Fees for arbitrators involving contracts for the period January 1, 2011 through April 1, 2014 are $1,000 per day, not to exceed $7,500. Fees for arbitrators involving contracts for the period April 2,2014 through December 31, 2017 are $1,000 per day, not to exceed $10,000. The parties share equally in the costs.
