Route 27 to close for weekend


The New Jersey Department of Transportation, in conjunction with Conrail, will temporarily close Route 27 in New Brunswick and Franklin Townships beginning on Friday, September 6, 2002.

The closure is required for railroad grade-crossing work in the vicinity of Churchill Avenue. A detour will be in place. The roadway will re-open Monday afternoon, September 9, 2002.

The $125,000 project is being paid for by NJDOT. The paved approaches to the railroad line will be replaced with concrete.
