Route 29 set for resurfacing in Trenton and Ewing

 


(Trenton)-- Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will resurface Route 29 in the City of Trenton and Ewing Township, Mercer County.

“NJDOT’s Route 29 resurfacing project will improve roadway quality and safety for motorists traveling in Mercer County,” said Commissioner Kolluri.

The $6 million project will begin construction October 13. NJDOT will resurface northbound Route 29 from Sullivan Way in Trenton to West Upper Ferry Road in Ewing. The project is scheduled for completion in late October 2007.

The following traffic patterns will be implemented in order to facilitate construction:

• On October 13 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., motorists traveling northbound on Route 29 will be detoured to Lee Avenue and redirected to Route 29 at West Upper Ferry Road. Heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Interstate 95.

• On October 20 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., motorists traveling northbound on Route 29 will be detoured to Sanhican Drive and redirected to Route 29 at West Upper Ferry Road.

• On October 27 from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., motorists traveling northbound on Route 29 will be detoured to Lee Avenue and redirected to Route 29 at West Upper Ferry Road. Heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Interstate 95.

Motorists are encouraged to travel carefully through the construction zone. Real time traffic information is available at www.njcommuter.com.
