NJDOT announces overnight closure of I-76 in Bellmawr

(Trenton) The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced that I-76 northbound and southbound at the Browning Road overpass in Bellmawr Borough, Camden County will be temporarily closed to traffic overnight on May 15 and 16.

From Tuesday night, May 15 at 11 p.m. to 4 a.m Wednesday, May 16 and again Wednesday night, May 16 from 11 p.m. to Thursday, May 17 at 4 a.m., the New Jersey State Police will stop traffic for 15-minute intervals as crews remove an abandoned water main connected to the Browning Road Bridge over I-76. The six-inch pipe is broken and in need of removal.

NJDOT will use overhead variable messaging signs (VMS) on Route 42 northbound and I-295 northbound and southbound and will place portable VMS on I-76 southbound and Route 130 southbound to inform motorists of the road closures. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.njcommuter.com. Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully to protect themselves and workers in the construction zone.
