Railroad-crossing repairs begin tomorrow
on Pedricktown Road in Logan

Necessary safety work will require road closure and detours

(Trenton) -New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced a railroad crossing rehabilitation project that will require the closure and detour of Pedricktown Road for about five days, starting tomorrow in Logan, Gloucester County.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, April 12, until 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, the two-way traffic on Pedricktown Road is scheduled to be closed and detoured at the railroad crossing between High Hill Road/CR662 and Veterans Drive for work on the railroad grade crossing. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses. The following detours will be in place:

From Pedricktown Road eastbound:

  • Motorists wishing to travel on Pedricktown Road toward High Hill Road will be directed to
  • Turn right onto Center Square Road/CR 620
  • Turn left onto Sharptown Road
  • Turn left back onto High Hill Road


From Pedricktown Road westbound:

  • Motorists wishing to travel on Pedricktown Road toward Center Square Road/CR 620 will be directed to continue on High Hill Road
  • Turn right onto Sharptown Road
  • Turn right Center Square Road/CR 620 to
  • Pedricktown Road

The traffic detour will be coordinated with the local police. If work is completed earlier, the roadway will be reopened accordingly.

In order to provide safer and smoother railroad crossing in Logan, the existing crossing will be replaced with new concrete crossings and new asphalt approaches. This federally-funded project is included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program that repairs, upgrades, or removes approximately 30 crossings each year, statewide.
