Work on the state-funded $5 million project began in January with the relocation of utility poles and wires. Following the utility relocation, the bridge abutments and bearings were repaired in advance of the deck work. The project is using Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques and will use 32 precast deck segments to construct the new bridge during the two-week closure. Once the bridge is reopened, work will continue on guiderail, parapets, fencing and then final paving. The project is expected to be completed by the fall 2019.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info or on the NJDOT Facebook page.
