Truck Monitoring Program

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), in collaboration with sister transportation agencies, initiated a truck monitoring program in 2007 to evaluate the impacts of new 102” Large Truck Network Regulations (N.J.A.C. 16:32) that became effective on January 22, 2008. The rules were readopted July 3, 2015. The truck monitoring program encompasses the collection of large truck volume data from the state's numerous weigh-in-motion stations, subsequent analysis of data, and the production of annual reports with its findings.

In 2007, NJDOT undertook an Origin-Destination survey of Large Trucks preceding the adoption of the new truck routing regulations.
