Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 72
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 72 described in this section are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Burlington County:
i. In the Township of Woodland:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Routes NJ 70 and NJ 72 traffic circle and the Woodland Township-Barnegat Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.0 to 11.49); thence
2. In Ocean County:
i. In the Township of Barnegat:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Woodland Township-Barnegat Township corporate line and the Barnegat Township-Stafford Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 11.49 to 18.06); thence
ii. In the Township of Stafford:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Barnegat Township-Stafford Township corporate line and Breakers Drive (approximate mileposts 18.06 to 20.16); thence
(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between Breakers Drive and Nautilus Drive (approximate mileposts 20.16 to 21.10); thence
(C) Zone 3: 55 MPH between Nautilus Drive and the Stafford Township – Ship Bottom Borough corporate line (the easterly end of the bridge over the East Thorofare) (approximate mileposts 21.10 to 28.14); thence
iii. In the Borough of Ship Bottom:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Stafford Township-Ship Bottom Borough corporate line (the easterly end of the bridge over East Thorofare) and Long Beach Boulevard (County Route 607) (approximate mileposts 28.14 to 28.74).
