SUBJECT: Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Funding Request and Procedures


As part of the State's ongoing effort to fulfill its requirements and responsibilities of the Americans With Disabilities Act ( ADA) Title II, the attached Procedures and Funding request guidelines are to be used when your agency cannot make its programs, services or activities accessible other than by structural modification.

As you are aware, the goal of the Self-Evaluation was to identify the conditions that should exist so that people with all types of disabilities can participate fully in the programs, services and activities of your department/agency. In this context, it is important to recognize that discrimination can result both from explicit policies and/or from the lack of formal policies on issues of discrimination.

To ensure ongoing accessibility compliance efforts, we are asking you to follow these procedures.
