Registering For New Jersey's Electronic Filing Program

Initial Registration With New Jersey

In order to participate in the State of New Jersey’s E-File Program, you must first register with the IRS. Once this is completed you must fill out the State of New Jersey’s LOI (Letter of Intent). To get a copy of the LOI and to submit the forms, please email An LOI must be filled out every year prior to testing.

New Comers To The Fed/State Program

If you have never participated in the Fed/State Electronic Filing Program, you will need to contact the IRS to apply for an identification number. You can write to the agency at: IRS/Newark, PO Box 668, Newark, NJ 07101-9788, Attn: Electronic Filing Coordinator.
