  • October 2023 - Updates from The NJBAC

    In partnership with the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, the NJBAC will participate in an upcoming webinar, “How to Become an Exporter or Expand Your Exports," on Wednesday, November 9, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. The Office of Export Promotion Manager William Spear and the Export Promotion team will provide expert insight on expanding export operations for New Jersey businesses.

  • September 2023 - Updates from The NJBAC

    Last week, Secretary of State Tahesha Way was appointed Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey by Governor Phil Murphy. The NJBAC, a division of the Department of State, would like to congratulate Lieutenant Governor Way, who comes to the position with over two decades in public service. In addition to fulfilling her duties as Lieutenant Governor, she will continue serving as Secretary of State.

  • You're Invited: NJBAC's Resources for Growth Event

    The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC) will host its free 'Resources for Growth' networking event for small businesses on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stockton University in Galloway, NJ. This NJBAC signature event will bring together the small business community, state agencies and community organizations to encourage business owners and entrepreneurs to discover the many incentive programs and services available to help businesses grow and thrive in the Garden State. 

  • August 2023 - Updates from The NJBAC

    Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver was a true pioneer, a dedicated public official, a trailblazer, and a lifelong New Jerseyan. Her remarkable contributions to the state and all who knew her will be her legacy; she will be missed but never forgotten. In a testament to her dedication and legacy, Governor Murphy has commissioned an official State portrait, a tribute to an extraordinary career in public service.

  • July 2023 - Updates From The NJBAC

    Last month, NJBAC hosted the State Pavilion at the annual Summer Fancy Food Show at Javits Center in New York City. NJBAC and its Office of Export Promotion (OEP) represented all the Garden State has to offer alongside 12 NJ State Trade Expansion Program (NJSTEP) award recipients. Secretary of State Tahesha Way attended to welcome guests at the pavilion ribbon cutting. The 12 businesses at the show took an exciting first step to launch their export operations.

  • June 2023 - Updates From The NJBAC

    The summer Fancy Food Show is coming up in New York City, and NJBAC is thrilled to be a part of it! From June 25-27, NJBAC and the Office of Export Promotion (OEP) will host 12 New Jersey State Trade Expansion Program (NJSTEP) companies at the State Pavilion. This event is the largest food trade show in North America, and it's sponsored annually by the Specialty Food Association. NJBAC and OEP will share information about export opportunities, NJSTEP and other business services and resources. If you’re attending the show, stop by booth #6056 to connect with our team!

  • May 2023 - Updates From The NJBAC

    The New Jersey Business Action Center has been recognized for its dedication to serving the statewide business community. The staff was awarded the "Innovation and Efficiency Award" in honor of Public Service Recognition Week, an annual May event. The agency's innovative approach to service to the business community post-pandemic, including the launch of live chat and the development of strategic partnerships, along with the creation of new departments and programming initiatives, like the Cannabis Training Academy and the NJ Motion Picture and Television Commission’s Film Ready certification program, has earned it this distinguished honor from the state of New Jersey.

  • Spring 2023 - Updates From The NJBAC

    Do you have questions about business entity filings or registration? The Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services (DORES) is now offering a video series to help the general public and business community navigate online services, ranging from business formation to business status and certification reporting. Currently, six videos are available and DORES is actively soliciting feedback from the general public about what other topics should be covered in future videos.

  • April 2023 - Updates From The NJBAC

    To strengthen the small business community, Governor Murphy has signed three bills into law to help businesses continue to recover after the ongoing economic hardships created by the coronavirus pandemic. The legislation will result in the development of expanded resources for small business owners as well as forgiveness for select first-time violations that do not pose threats to public safety or welfare.

  • February 2023 - Updates From the NJBAC

    You are invited to meet with dozens of government agencies, technical assistance providers and lenders to help your business grow. NJBAC, the NJ State Chamber of Commerce and Somerset County will host this event which will provide one-on-one expertise to navigate a variety of state departments, business certifications, contracting opportunities and financing assistance.

  • Winter 2023 - Updates From the NJBAC

    Join USDA Rural Development Business Programs for an update on the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act on its Renewable Energy for America Program (REAP).  Learn about REAP changes and grant funding available for energy efficiency improvement projects and renewable energy system installations to cut energy costs for agricultural producers and rural small businesses in New Jersey. The registration link to the 90-minute webinar, which begins at 10 a.m., is below.

  • NJBAC is Thankful For All Of Our Small Businesses

    The NJ Economic Development Authority Small Business Improvement Grant is still available. Applications are still being taken by the NJEDA. It offers reimbursement for costs associated with making building improvements or purchasing new furniture, fixtures and equipment.

    Gov. Phil Murphy announced the creation of the New Jersey Manufacturers Voucher Program – a $20 million pilot program that could provide up to $250,000 in grants to manufacturers in targeted industries to use toward updating their equipment.
