As part of the comprehensive procurement reform package that was recently signed by Governor Codey at the end of his term, the Director of DPP is authorized to purchase goods and services through contracts awarded under a "nationally-recognized and accepted cooperative purchasing agreement" procured competitively, "whenever the director determines this to be the most cost-effective method of procurement." Under the statute, the Director must review and approve the contract specifications in order to make his determination. Please note that in order to implement this program, the Division must first develop enabling regulations and procedures, which are currently under development. However, until those regulations and procedures are promulgated, the program will not be available for use by State Agencies or Cooperative Purchasing Members.
