Izzy Castiglioni is a Resource Management Specialist at the New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council. He brings significant experience in stormwater and watershed management to the role.

Prior to joining the Highlands Council, Izzy worked as an Outreach Manager with the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions. In this position he focused largely on stormwater matters, managing a regional Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) education and implementation program, which ultimately led to the construction of six public and 25 homeowner GSI projects, during Izzy's less-than-three-year tenure in the role. He also conducted water quality monitoring activities and trained junior staff in the procedures.

Izzy's previous experience also includes work with the Camden County Soil Conservation District and serving as an AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador for the Rancocas Creek Watershed in the Pinelands. As a Watershed Ambassador, Izzy coordinated with government, academic and nonprofit entities to engage and educate the community about watersheds, nonpoint source pollution, and water quality management.

Izzy holds a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, completing a capstone project that focused on farming best management practices for reducing atmospheric greenhouse gasses and stormwater runoff. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, Environmental & Resource Management from Binghamton University.
