Every year, the Department of State provides dozens of grants to nurture and strengthen New Jersey's rich cultural and arts heritage. Historians, educators, artists, performers, and many others use our grant funding to further their research, share their creativity, or host performances throughout the state.

This page provides you with access to general information on each of our grant offerings. Use these guidelines to apply for grants and learn more about the projects we support.

 

System for Administrating Grants Electronically

The Department of State has upgraded to a new version of the System for Administrating Grants Electronically (SAGE). The new Blue SAGE is available for use and has impacted the following Programs / Divisions found within the Department of State:

  • NJ Commission on National and Community Service - AmeriCorps
  • Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development (CHPRD)
  • Cultural Trust
  • Historical Commission
  • New Jersey State Council on the Arts
  • Office of Faith Based Initiatives
  • Travel and Tourism

Grantee Webinar
NJ DOS IG16 Grantee Webinar (title of webinar) has been made available in the SAGE website. After logging into SAGE, the webinar is located on the top right under “Training Materials”, “Videos”. 

On-line Manual
Please click on the below link to view an on-line manual that gives a basic overview of the look and feel of the new system. All profiles and information found in the current SAGE system will carry forward into the new version. The upgrade will change the way a user navigates through the system while the forms and applications remain the same.

Applications and Declarations of Intent will be filed electronically using the System for Administering Grants Electronically (SAGE). All new applicants are strongly encouraged to register for SAGE at least one week in advance of upcoming grant deadlines.
