Various Regulations for Local Roads under State Jurisdiction

Frontage Road (formerly known as Baptist Church Road – Marginal Road) (vicinity of Routes I-78 & US 22)
Certain parts of the roadway known as Frontage Road (formerly known as Baptist Church Road – Marginal Road) (vicinity of Routes I-78 & US 22), located in the Township of Union in Hunterdon County, are under New Jersey Department of Transportation jurisdiction.  Traffic on these sections of the roadway is hereby controlled by the following regulations:
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of Frontage Road described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 25 MPH between Pattenburg Road and a point 725 feet east of Pattenburg Road; thence
NOTE: Frontage Road is under municipal (Township of Union) jurisdiction between 725 feet east of Pattenburg Road and 500 feet west of Perryville Road.
(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between a point 500 feet west of Perryville Road (County Route 625) and a point 750 east of Perryville Road; thence
(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between 750 feet east of Perryville Road (County Route 625) and Ruppells Road; thence
(D) Zone 4: 40 MPH between 750 feet east of Perryville Road and the Frontage Road – Route I-78 easterly interchange.
(b) The certain parts of Frontage Road described in this subsection are hereby designated and established as “no stopping or standing” zones, where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times:
(1) No stopping or standing along both sides:
(A) Between 500 feet west of Perryville Road (County Route 625) and the Frontage Road – Route I-78 easterly interchange.
(c) Turning movements for the certain parts of Frontage Road described in this subsection are hereby regulated as follows:
(1) No left turns for commercial motor vehicles over ten (10) tons gross vehicle weight:
(A) From the Frontage Road near Route I-78 Exit 12 onto Charlestown Road (County Route 625) northbound (a.k.a. Mechlin Corner Road) (approximate County Route 625 milepost 4.92, approximate I-78 milepost 13.42).
