Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 52
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 52 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Cape May County:
i. In the City of Ocean City:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between Palen Avenue and the City of Ocean City - City of Somers Point corporate line (Cape May County – Atlantic County corporate line) (approximate mileposts 0.01 to 1.91); thence
(2) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the City of Ocean City – City of Somers Point corporate line (Cape May County – Atlantic County corporate line) and 1,300 feet north of Palen Avenue (approximate mileposts 1.91 to 0.26); thence
(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between 1,300 feet north of Palen Avenue and Palen Avenue (approximate mileposts 0.26 to 0.01); thence
2. In Atlantic County:
i. In the City of Somers Point:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the City of Ocean City - City of Somers Point corporate line (Cape May County – Atlantic County corporate line) and Route US 9 (end of route) (approximate mileposts 1.91 to 2.74); thence
(2) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between Route US 9 (end of route) and the Somers Point Road (County Route 559) (approximate mileposts 2.74 to 2.12); thence
(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between Somers Point Road (County Route 559) and the City of Ocean City – City of Somers Point corporate line (Cape May County – Atlantic County corporate line) (approximate mileposts 2.12 to 1.91).
