Restricted Parking and Stopping


Route US 9

(a)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 9 described in this section are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30.  In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.

1.

In Cape May County:

i. In the Township of Lower:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions.

ii.  In the Township of Middle:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iii.  In the Township of Dennis:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

iv.  In the Township of Upper:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

(b)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 9 described in this section shall be designated and established as "no parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times and as specified. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established bus stops:

In Cape May County:

i.  In the Township of Middle:

(1)

Mid-Block bus stop along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Between Pershing Avenue and Oyster Road – Beginning at a point 1550 feet south of the southerly curb line of Oyster Road and extending 135 feet southerly therefrom.

(2)

Mid-Block bus stop along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between Pershing Avenue and Oyster Road – Beginning at a point 1550 feet south of the southerly curb line of Oyster Road and extending 135 feet southerly therefrom.

In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following handicapped parking areas:

(A) Beginning at a point 55 feet south of the south curb line of Church Street and extending 22 feet south therefrom.

(d)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 9 described in this subsection shall be designated and established as "time limit parking" zones, where parking is prohibited except as specified. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established time limit parking zones:

i. In the Township of Middle:

(1)

One hour time limit parking daily along both sides:

(A) Beginning at the northerly curb line of Steel Road-Hand Avenue (CR 658) to the southerly curb line and prolongation of the southerly curb line of Church Street.

(e)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 9, described in this subsection, shall be designated and established as "loading zones" where parking is prohibited at all times. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following loading zones:
