Body Worn Camera Policy

Body worn cameras (BWC) are utilized for the accurate documentation of interactions between law enforcement and members of the public. BWC recordings allow for enhanced transparency of law enforcement operations by often providing more complete and objective evidence. Additionally, BWCs serve as a powerful deterrent to inappropriate and unlawful behavior by all involved and present during an encounter between law enforcement and the public.

The Office of Criminal Investigation provides Axon Body Worn Cameras, depicted below, to special agents as required by internal policy and the New Jersey Attorney General. Below are photos of the device and how Office of Criminal Investigation Special Agents wear BWCs.
