Route 130 lane and ramp closures near Crosswicks Creek to begin Friday for utility work in Hamilton

PSE&G pole relocation necessary ahead of bridge work

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced daytime lane and ramp closures on Route 130 in Hamilton, Mercer County for utility work as part of a bridge replacement project. 

Beginning Friday, February 1, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and continuing weekdays, Monday through Friday for approximately five weeks, PSE&G is scheduled to close one lane in each direction on Route 130 near the Crosswicks Creek Bridge.

The ramp from Route 156 southbound to Route 130 southbound also will be closed and detoured from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Local access will be maintained.

The closures are necessary in order for PSE&G to relocate utility poles in advance of a $7.2 million project to replace the Route 130 Bridges over Doctors and Crosswicks Creek in Hamilton and Bordentown.

The following Route 156 southbound detour will be in place:

• Motorists travelling on Route 156 southbound will be directed to turn left at Church Street
• Turn left onto the ramp for Route 130 northbound
• Take Route 130 northbound to the Klockner Road exit/U-turn
• At the traffic signal, turn left onto Route 130 southbound

Portable variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work.
