NJDOT announces night-time lane
closures on Route 295 in Burlington County

Roadway rehabilitation project advances

(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced upcoming overnight single and double lane closures on Route 295 northbound and southbound in Mount Laurel and Westampton Townships in Burlington County.

Beginning Friday, June 1, the Department will institute single and double lane closures overnight on Route 295 northbound between milepost 41 and 45.2 and southbound between milepost 41 and 46.5 as work progresses on an $8.7 million roadway rehabilitation project. The first closures will be located on the southbound side of the roadway.  The project is scheduled for completion in December 2007.

In March, NJDOT began work on a pavement preservation project that will extend the life of the pavement by 12 to 15 years. NJDOT will replace 49 full slabs of concrete pavement. The new concrete pavement surface will then be grind to increase skid-resistance. NJDOT in March began milling and paving the entrance and exit ramps and shoulders.

NJDOT has installed Variable Message Signs (VMS) to inform motorists the changes in traffic patterns during nighttime operations. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website, www.njcommuter.com for project updates.
