Crews create the rebar mat for the pouring of a concrete footing for the pedestrian bridge on the southbound side of Route 18 at Phelpls and Newell Avenues. A second footing will be created across the highway near Carpender Road to support the north side of the structure. |

Looking south from Gibbons Place on the Rutgers Campus, the location of the highway's new lanes comes into view. In this area of Route 18, there will be a new dynamic messaging sign to improve traffic flow and a pedestrian bridge to provide safe crossings for residents in the area. |
