Policy and Implementation Committee

The Pinelands Commission’s Policy and Implementation Committee reviews major policy issues, including proposed amendments to the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP) and other initiatives or special projects, and it makes recommendations to the full, 15-member Commission.

For example, the Committee:

  • Reviews determinations of whether municipal and county ordinances, master plans and land use proposals are consistent with the CMP;
  • Considers and makes recommendations regarding planning issues (infrastructure, wastewater, water quality and quantity, map/zoning/density changes, cellular facilities);
  • Oversees the work of the Commission's Long Term Economic Monitoring Program and Long Term Environmental Monitoring Program;
  • Oversees the Commission's permanent land protection programs; and
  • Reviews proposed memorandums of agreement with other state agencies, counties and municipalities.

Personnel and Budget Committee

The Pinelands Commission's Personnel and Budget Committee advises the Commission on business and operational matters. The Committee's responsibilities include the annual budget, other fiduciary policies and practices, human resource and employee compensation matters, personnel policies, information management systems, insurance, contracting and the maintenance of buildings and grounds.

MOA Policy Advisory Committee

The MOA Policy Advisory Committee is an ad hoc committee charged with examining the intergovernmental memorandum of agreement process described in the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan, reviewing the history of its implementation, and advising the full 15-member Commission as to whether amendments should be made to provide more clear policy direction on the process and substance of intergovernmental agreements. 

This Committee is ad hoc and advisory in nature; when it reaches a conclusion and reports its advice to the Commission, it shall have discharged its duties.

Agriculture Committee

 

The Pinelands Commission’s Agriculture Committee reviews agriculturally-related policy issues, including proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Management Plan, permitting requirements, proposed legislation and rulemaking efforts by other agencies, and makes recommendations to the full, 15-member Commission.
